The Academy is committed to furthering students' academic abilities and creative talents, preparing them to pursue their arts interest in college, throughout life, and their careers.

Program
Prior to the start of the normal school day, students may
take an "early bird" class in dance, art, choir, band or
theater. Two periods are
spent in their selected arts concentration, followed by participation in
Allen's comprehensive academic offerings.
Dance students observe technique, style, and genre, while
gaining experience in performance, choreography, and critical thinking.
Students also learn about the history of dance.
Music students perform in seasonal concerts at school and in
the area, and may tour the world, make recordings or win major
competitions.
Theater arts students focus on voice and movement, theater
and history. Workshops and
touring shows highlight this experience.
Visual arts students learn artistic discipline and develop their talents. They create portfolios with work in photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, and graphic design.
