December 2006 Meeting Minutes 

A meeting was held on December 11, 2006 in the Student Center.  In attendance were:  Joanne Sheesley, President, Jackie Praedin, Secretary, Gina Kormanik, Joel Kichline, Jim Kemmerer, Rachel Allen, Sally Trexler, Brenda Wertman, Patti Costello, Terri Ertle and Donna Cabrey. 

 Secretary’s report was read.  Treasurer, Rook Jones was absent, last March’s report was read.  Our balance is $6,800.00.   

 We are still in need of a vice president.  Anyone interested please speak up.

 Allen’s Booster Club- they now send news letters.  $5.00 to belong.  They handle the all sports banquet at the end of the year.  The club is doing Lights in the Parkway this year.  It is not just a single sport.  If you can work any shift the week of January 1 – January 7 please contact Joanne or Nancy Reinhart of the Booster Club.  Sally will list these shifts on our web site.

 We discussed checking where we stand on our wish list.  Blocks, record board and trophy case.  The grant we will be receiving is $5,000.00 however it could take 9 months to a year to receive the money.  We have already taken care of the lighting and are working on starting blocks.  We will look into using the money for the next items on our list.

 Snack Bar – we made approximately $120 at the first meet.  We will be raising our price of pizza to $1.25.  It was suggested that we have a thermal bag to keep the pizza warm.  Joanne has one for now but if anyone has one to donate or for next year keep this in mind.

 We will be selling 50/50 tickets at home meets. 

 Fundraising – we are going to order flip flops with Allen Canaries on them and sell them for $20.  We are not going to mention swimming because maybe other sports would purchase them and we can make some money.  We are also going to sell Wawa coupons for 6” hoagies.  We pay $2.50 and sell for $3.50, no expiration and can be used towards any hoagie. 

 We discussed possibly selling the Lehigh Valley Book for $10 – this is a coupon book.  It may be too late in the season for this but we should keep it in mind for next year to start looking into them in September.  Call 1-800-276-8805

 Joanne is ordering men’s shirts and women’s shirts to sell at snack bar.

 Parent’s committee – Senior night, Feb. 1 Emmaus meet. 

 A pasta party will be held at the Kichline’s for the entire team.  A sign up sheet is available at the snack bar at the December 21 meet.

 Districts – March 2 and 3.  We need home meet decorations.  Joanne did a nice job with the stars and posters.  If anyone can make signs please bring in and hang up.

 The next meeting dates are:  Jan. 10, Feb. 12 and March 14.

 Donna Cabrey made a motion to adjourn and Jim Kemmerer 2^nd the motion.
