How to Apply:

You are invited to apply for a teaching position with the Allentown School District through the Pennsylvania Educators' Clearinghouse ( PA-Educator.net ).  Through the PA-Educator.net site, you will be able to gain access to our latest job postings, which are listed under Lehigh county on the Job Opportunities page, and respond directly to the Allentown School District.  Information is also available regarding Pennsylvania teacher certification testing requirements, credential information, and links to other educational web sites.

Applying online is an easy step-by-step process.  It should take you less than one hour to complete the standard online application.  Storing an application on PA-Educator is free to applicants, and it costs less than $2.00 to mail a set of credentials to PA-Educator.  Your application and credentials are immediately available to over 130 Pennsylvania school districts and intermediate units.  Be assured that all credentials stored on PA-Educator.net have password protection and Internet encryption security to provide confidentiality. Directions:

  • Go to http://www.pa-educator.net
  • On the home page, click on "Smart Educators Start Here."
  •  Follow the instructions for the two-step application process:

  1. Complete the online application including the text fields for the Letter of Interest, Resume, and the required Essay

  2. Mail a complete set of credentials to PA-Educator.net which includes:

  1. Copy of Child Abuse Clearance (ACT 151), Copy of Criminal History Background Check (Act 34), and Copy of Federal Criminal History (ACT 114)
  2. Copy of Pennsylvania Professional Certificate,
  3. Three to six letters of recommendation, and
  4. Unofficial transcripts.
  5. Praxis test results

Documents are scanned and linked to your online application.  That's all there is to it!

* Notice: Currently employed ASD professional staff members (Salaried Substitutes, Temporary Professional Employees, and Professional Employees) who wish to apply for a posted position (in the Current Listings above), should fill out a Declaration of Interest Form on the Staff Intranet.  The form must be receive by the Human Resources office no later that 4:00 pm on the expiration date of the posting.
