My mission as a music teacher is to develop the love and appreciation of music in the hearts and minds of the students at the Sheridan School.

As I watched the awards assemblies at the Sheridan School I noticed an interesting fact.

Many of the students who achieved the highest awards in academics were the same students who took musical instrument lessons or received art awards.

We create good habits of the mind through integrating art, music, speaking and  classroom studies. All of these parts work together to help the student become a success.

Do you want to increase your brain power this summer?

	Attend a band concert at West Park (16th and Linden Streets)
	Watch "Concert in the Park" Wednesday nights on RCN4 at 8:30pm.

	Listen to a performance at Musikfest.
	Create your own  musical instrument from objects you find around your home.
	Talk about what you see on VH1 or MTV with your Mom.
	Be an Arts Detective - search for music and art in new places as you enjoy your summer vacation.
