"In fourth grade, Air Products scientists taught us
about transportation. We played the Banana Land Game and had a lot of fun. What surprised us the most was that the pipes on the truck were covered with ice, even though it was 80 degrees outside. We couldn’t believe that liquid nitrogen could be so very cold." Alyssa B., 5th Grade May 24, 2000"I learned about simple machines in third grade. The simple machines are: pulley, lever, incline plane, and wedge. The people who taught me about the simple machines were Florida Frank and several other scientists. I got to experiment with all of the simple machines. I learned a lot from Air Products throughout my five years at Sheridan. I would like to say thank you from all of us." Phong H., 5th Grade May 24, 2000 "When I was in second grade, Air Products came to Sheridan and taught us about health, the sources of energy, matter, and the environment. As you can see, second grade was a very busy year for learning science. What I remember most, though, was Detective Frank coming to Sheridan and teaching us about ways people waste electricity. He had us go home and search for ways that electricity was wasted in our own homes. I had fun being a detective at home and then telling my parents about how they were wasting electricity. When I talked to my classmates, I discovered that all of our parents were surprised by how much we had learned. Thank you Detective Frank!" Ross L., 5th Grade May 24, 2000 "Air Products scientists have been a part of my science education since I was in first grade. I remember when Farmer Frank came and taught us about the three states of matter. There are solids, liquids, and gases. It was fun watching him do experiments and explaining how they were different. I was excited and learned a lot. It was silly when Farmer Frank called Mr. Trumbauer, Mr. Trumbone. All of the first graders laughed and laughed. Now in fifth grade, I have learned that there are really four states of matter. The fourth state is plasma. I get smarter all the time. Thank you Air Products!" Ashley A., 5th Grade May 24, 2000
