The Allentown School District has been chosen by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and the Department of Public Welfare (DPW) to pilot a program that has been added to a statewide program called COMPASS. COMPASS is a system, currently being used by DPW, that allows citizens of Pennsylvania to apply for programs, such as Food Stamps, Energy Assistance, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), etc., online through the internet.

For the first time, applications for free and reduced price meals as part of the school lunch program are now available on line.  Since the Allentown School District is participating in the pilot, you may complete the “Household Meal Benefit Application” online at www.compass.state.pa.us or you may use the paper “Household Meal Benefit Application” provided to you by your school. The information you enter on COMPASS is kept confidential and used only for the purposes indicated during the application process.

El Distrito Escolar de Allentown ha sido escogido por el Departamento de Educación de Pennsylvania (PDE) y el Departamento de Asistencia Publica (DPW) para participar en un programa nuevo estatal llamado COMPASS. COMPASS es un sistema utilizado por el DPW que permite a los ciudadanos de Pennsylvania llenar aplicaciones vía el Internet para programas como cupones de comida, asistencia de energía eléctrica, y seguro de salud para los niños (CHIP), etc.

Por primera vez, solicitudes para comidas gratis y precio reducido como parte del programa escolar es disponible vía el Internet. Como el distrito de Allentown es participante en este programa, Usted puede llenar la solicitud de comida hogareña a través del www.compass.state.pa.us o si prefiere, puede utilizar la forma distribuida en las escuelas. Toda la información en COMPASS es confidencial y será usado solamente con los propósitos indicados durante el proceso de solicitud.
