| The Scholastic Scrimmage Team represents our school in an organized
academic quiz bowl. Four team members, including the captain, and four
alternates train to compete against teams from other local schools in a half-hour show produced at WLVT, Lehigh Valley Public
Television, airing Saturdays at 9:30a.m. and Sundays at
10:00a.m. and 4:30p.m.
In the last three decades, William Allen has won the championship four
times (1976, 1979, 1991, 1992) and been runner-up three times (1977,
1988, 2001).
The team also competes at other local- and state-sponsored
invitational championships. For a second season, William Allen competed
in the Lehigh
Valley Conference, West Division, meeting at Parkland High School at
4p.m.

William Allen took home the Runner Up Trophy and a $2000 scholarship awarded by Air Products.
For his efforts, Andrew earned a spot on the four-member Valley-wide All-Star Team.
Accepting the trophy, Mr. Patterson thanked Mr. Falko for his generous support, the team members
for giving so much personal time to preparation, and especially the parents of the team members for
instilling in their children the values of learning.
Mr. Falko and Dr. Scott each warmly praised the team and expressed great pride in their accomplishment.
