AP Reminder- All students taking the AP Macroeconomics and AP World History exam on Thursday May 15th, please report to the gym basement classrooms by 7:15am.
Seniors! Petitions for Lifetime Class Officers for the Class of 2008 will be available in the Main Office beginning on Monday, May 12. Petitions need to be returned to the Main Office by 3:15 p.m. on Friday, May 16. The primary election will be held on Tuesday, May 20. If needed, the general election will be held on Thursday, May 22. The Lifetime Class Officers are responsible for planning class reunions in the future. This is a very unique opportunity for Allen seniors.
SENIORS: Prom tickets are now on sale in Room 8L. You may purchase prom tickets before school, during periods 5 and 6, and after school until 3:30 p.m. Please refer to the blue flyer you received in English class for information on ticket prices and seating. Prom ticket sales will end on Thursday, May 15.
STUDENTS- the Key Club is sponsoring a girls flag football game. Students interested in playing in a flag football day can sign up in the main office. The money from ticket sales will go to support March of Dimes.
Kutztown University is offering a summer program that will increase your reading speed and comprehension. Note taking and study skills that can help improve your grades will be covered as well. Courses are available for all high school students. For more information, see Mrs. Tehonica in guidance.
The Puerto Rican Cultural Alliance is looking for their next princess/queen. Must be 16 years or older. Applications and instructions are in the Main Office if you are interested.
PIC Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Seniors - Applications for the senior picnic are available from your English teachers. Please return your applications to Mr. Iles in Room 8L, Ms. Lakatosh in Room 223, or Mr. McConnell in Room 305A. The applications are due on Friday, May 16. Please make sure that you read the application and get the signatures that you need.
The Athletic Office will be taking orders for spring sport letter jackets through Friday, May 23. The list of students that earned a varsity letter in a spring sport is posted in the athletic office window. Information on ordering a jacket is available in the athletic office.
The ELECT students are invited to attend Lunch Bunch this Thursday during their regular lunch period in Room 106 across form the Guidance Office. Lunch will be served.
The William Allen Rotary/Interact Club meets each Thursday in Room 210A at 3:15pm Join this club to help your community, meet local business leaders and have fun.
When the season started, it was said that they couldn't do it, but they beat the odds, disproved the naysayers, and made everyone believe. The 2007-2008 Girls' Basketball Team won The District Title and ended the season ranked 3rd in the entire state! They brought pride to our school and our community and now it is our turn to honor them. The Girls' Basketball Champions' Banquet will be held on Friday June 6th at The West End Youth Center. Tickets, which include refreshments, are available for $10 in the athletic office. Administrators, Faculty, Staff, and Students please come out and honor this year's Champions! Please buy your tickets by Friday May 30th.
Any juniors that are performing community service for their graduation project and are in need of hours the NJROTC has open slots to help out during the Mayfair Festival 22-27 May 2008. Service involves keeping the Festival area clean. Anyone interested should come down to the NJROTC classroom to sign up.
Mandatory Fall
Athletic Meetings will be held on Wednesday, May 21st at 3:15p at the
following locations:
Lower Level of Main Cafeteria – Football, Upper Level of Main Cafeteria –
Boys Soccer, Student Center – Field Hockey, Golf, and Girls Tennis, Room 8 –
Girls Volleyball, and in Room 307 Cross Country.
Free Fall Athletic Physicals will be held at Allen High School on Saturday, June 7th in the Cafeteria Annex at 9a for girls and 11a for boys. Any student-athlete interested in participating in a Fall Sport in the 2008-09 School Year must have a 2008 Fall Athletic Form on file in the athletic office on or before Monday, August 11th. Physical forms are available in the athletic office which is located in the basement of the main building across from the cafeteria.
Are you interested in photography and cinematography? Want to learn how to use top of the line media equipment? Come to the technology information seminar after school this Thursday in the auditorium. Peter Mackey from Northampton Community College will be available to answer all of your media tech questions, show you all of the latest equipment, and talk about what's going on at the college. Think your tech savy, or maybe technologically challenged? Come to the auditorium this Thursday and test your skills while having fun and eating free food! Sponsored by the Rotary Interact Club.
The Allegro Dance Team will be holding auditions for the 2008-2009 team on Tuesday, May 20th and Thursday, May 22nd from 3:30-6pm in room 109A. Wear all black (dance attire preferred), bring water and be on time! There will be an informational meeting held immediately following school for 15 minutes on Monday, May 19th in 10L. If you have talent, dedication, determination and drive, then it's time to dance!
Students participating in today’s student forum at the Divinci Center will not be in homeroom today and should not be marked absent. These students will be returned to Allen by the beginning of 6th period. A list of these students can be viewed in the faculty section of the bulletin.
All Track and Field uniforms are to be returned Friday May, 16th after school in the main cafeteria, along with the money from your flags.
Attention: All faculty, staff, and students are invited to the “50th Annual Art Exhibit” and Allen Academy of the Arts Gala. It will be held at the Allentown Art Museum on Sunday, May 18th from 1pm to 3pm. Come enjoy the Theatre, Music, and Dance Academy performances. Allow time to view the Visual Art Academy exhibit. Additionally, Alumni of William Allen High School will be exhibiting in the Museum’s Gem Corridor with sales helping to support the Arts at Allen. Admission is free on Sundays.
