CAREER PLANNING

As a student enrolled at William Allen High School, you are eligible to use the school district account for a comprehensive career exploration program called Career Cruising. Please see your guidance counselor for login and password. These other sites may also be helpful in post secondary career planning.

·        CAREER CRUISING: A comprehensive career and college search program which matches interests to career choices and provides interviews with professionals already in the field as well as postsecondary planning options for those career choices. 

·        CAREER PATHWAYS: This program is designed to help students learn about themselves and careers.  The program is designed to assist students in identifying with one of four career clusters in order to determine a career pathway.

·        LCTI: The homepage for Lehigh Career and Technical Institute which provides information and contacts to their programs.  LCTI is an option for students who choose to specialize in career and technical training from a host of various options.

·        AMERICA’S CAREER INFONET: Reference information regarding career preparation and entry requirements for various careers.

·        DICTIONARY OF OCCUPATIONAL TITLES  This site, provided by the Department of Labor, offers a comprehensive directory of job titles and descriptions.

·        OCCUPATIONAL OUTLOOK ONLINE: A reference about occupations complied by the US Department of Labor including description of job training and growth patterns for various careers. 

·        O’NET ONLINE: This site utilizes personal skills to identify possible career choices which complement these skills.

·        SALARY OUTLOOK: This site provides a search engine to research current and projected average salaries for a variety of careers.
