The Allentown School District falls under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)  a provision from the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 that allows schools and local educational agencies (LEAs) with high poverty rates to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students. CEP eliminates the burden of collecting household applications to determine eligibility for school meals. Therefore under CEP, ALL students in the District receive free lunch.

Child Nutrition Services Mission is to provide services as part of the overall physical and mental well-being of each student. Child Nutrition Services understands that good nutrition is essential to a student's health and development. Child Nutrition Services encourages our students to eat nutritious school meals in an effort to enable each student to concentrate and learn.

Our Vision is to provide a variety of services that includes breakfast, lunch, after-school snacks, nutrition education, and other community related services that provide a vehicle to education about the importance of proper nutrition and its relationship to education. These services will be provided using the most recent research and development in the field of dietetics and child nutrition. Child Nutrition Services is proud to provide services under the guidance of the United States Department of Agriculture. This guidance includes compliance with sanitation and nutritional guidelines.
