Health and Physical Education Electives

Health and Physical Education Elective Courses

For electives that have limited enrollment, priority will be given to upper classmen who need the course to meet graduation, academy or pathway requirements.

Physical Education – Boys/Girls - No. 903/923
Grade 9, 10, 11, 12      Year 1       3 Periods      0.5 Credits

Physical Education is required for graduation and includes instruction in lifetime sports, physical fitness and conditioning, rhythmic movement, aquatics and adaptive physical education. Students will be expected to wear, for health and safety reasons, the Allentown School District approved physical education uniform.

Physical Education – Boys/Girls - No. 904/924

Physical Education is required for graduation and includes instruction in lifetime sports, physical fitness and conditioning, rhythmic movement, aquatics and adaptive physical education. Adapted Physical Education-  No. 908/928
Grade 9, 10, 11, 12      Year 1       2 Periods      0.5 Credits

Physical Education is required for graduation and includes instruction in lifetime sports, physical fitness and conditioning.  Adapted Physical Education fulfills the required Physical Education credit for eligible students, who require a curriculum that offers significant adapted physical education instruction.

Physical Education* – DE - No. 913DE
Physical education courses are oriented toward lifetime and are elective in nature. They may not be repeated for credit.

Health Education - No. 931
Grade 9       Year .5        5 Periods       0.5 Credits

Health Education provides an understanding of the human body systems and substance abuse with an emphasis on human sexuality. The curriculum explores positive daily life skills that include wellness, nutrition, first aid and community health.
