Historical Fact:
Harrison Morton was formed from
the merger of two former grammar schools. Harrison, grammar school for
boys, was built in 1874 and named for Benjamin Harrison. The girls'
grammar school, founded in 1891, was named for Dr. D. J. Morton, a school board
member. The two were merged into a junior high school in 1927. |
