Description of Services

Family Centers are places where Allentown residents of all ages may come together to learn about community resources, and choose from a variety of services and activities to improve the quality of their lives.

Family Development Specialists certified in parent education visit homes, meet with groups of parents and provide assessments and support to parents for their children from pregnancy through kindergarten. They facilitate access to needed services, and coordinate case management services. Health centers are also located in the elementary schools served by the Family Centers.  Collaborative partners representing health, communities of faith, education, business, government and community based organizations join in efforts to improve the lives of children and their families. Most services are provided free of charge. Some services require enrollment.
