PSSA Update

Principal's Message

The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) is administered to students in our junior class - that is, grade 11. 

William Allen High School has taken several steps to improve test results. We purchased calculators for grade 11 students taking the test, provide breakfast and lunch on test days, and created an environment to facilitate student success. 

Parents/Guardians help by stressing the importance of the test, ensuring that grade 11 students arrive promptly and well-rested for each day of testing, and reminding students to complete all parts of the PSSA to the best of their ability.

Mathematics and Reading Assessments
will be administered on Monday, March 31
through Monday, April 7, 2008.
No Early Bird classes on these dates.

• Grade 9, 10, 12 AM LCTI, All-day LCTI, Academic Center, & CAP students meet buses as usual at 7:40a.m..
• Grade 9, 10, 12 PM LCTI students follow 2-hr delay schedule (report to Allen homeroom @ 10a.m., busses depart @10:55 as usual).
• Grade 9 & 10 LSC students follow 2-hr delay schedule:
  Alpha & Theta teams buses depart at 9:45a.m.
  Delta, Discover, & Gamma teams report to WAHS auditorium @ 10a.m. for HR.
• Grade 9, 10, 12 regular program students follow 2-hr delay schedule (10a.m.HR).

All Grade 11 students follow the a.m. schedule below:

Schedule for testing:

  7:00  Grade 11 breakfast Main Cafe
  8:15  Grade 11 report to testing rooms
  8:20  PSSA testing
  9:50   dismiss from testing

Schedule following testing:

10:00  Home Room
Grade 11 PM LCTI students report to WAHS auditorium @10a.m from PSSA for Home Room, eat 3rd lunch (11:55a.m.)
10:15  rotating a.m. period (M1, T2, W3, T1, F2, M3) including Grade 11 AM LCTI students (busses depart @10:55 as usual)
10:55  resume regular schedule
  3:10  regular dismissal from period 7 [no early dismissal Wednesday]
