A Modern Learning Community for Allentown

Building a School Designed for Students, Families, and the Future.

The Allentown School District is moving forward with an exciting new K–8 school planned for the city’s East Side. This project has been shaped by community input, thoughtful planning, and a shared vision for giving students a space where they can learn, grow, and thrive.

What the New School Will Offer

The new building is designed to be a welcoming, student-centered environment with modern learning features and plenty of room for both academic and community activities.

Key features include:
  • A spacious, 208,000-square-foot facility
  • Room for 1,200 K–8 students
  • A hands-on makerspace for innovative learning
  • A flexible multipurpose room
  • Outdoor playing fields for recreation and athletics
  • Green space designed for students and the community

Construction is expected to begin soon, with the school opening during the 2027–2028 school year.

A Design That Reflects Community Needs

The school site and layout were selected after reviewing enrollment trends, facility needs, and family accessibility. Community feedback played an important role, leading to a more open, inviting, and responsive design that reflects what families said they wanted.

Supporting Families Beyond the Classroom

Alongside the new school, the District is also planning a Family Engagement & Resource Center at Bridgeview Academy.

This center will offer:

  • Adult education programs
  • Workforce development opportunities
  • ESL classes
  • Healthcare services through a local provider

Together, these projects demonstrate the District’s strong commitment to supporting the whole child, empowering families, and strengthening the community.
