Superintendent's Reading League

We are excited to announce the launch of the Superintendent's Reading League: Summer Challenge, a district-wide literacy initiative that kicks off Monday, July 29th, and runs through Sunday, August 9, 2026!

As part of our "Light the Way to Literacy" campaign, this challenge invites all Allentown School District students, staff, and families to Score a Goal with Every Book by tracking their reading throughout the summer. Our goal is simple: inspire a love of reading, build lifelong literacy habits, and celebrate reading across every school and throughout our community.

How It Works

Readers log their reading minutes in Beanstack (accessible through Clever).
Readers earn badges and achievements as they reach reading milestones.
Schools and individual readers compete for top honors, prizes, and district-wide recognition.

Who Will Be Crowned the Reading League Champions?

Top 3 Elementary Schools
Top 3 Secondary Schools
Top Individual Readers (Elementary & Secondary)

The school with the highest average reading minutes per student will be crowned the Superintendent's Reading League Champion!
Winners will be recognized during the District Convocation on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Beanstack

The Superintendent’s Reading League encourages all participants - including our students, staff, families, and community members to bring the joy of reading to life through engaging competition, recognition, and gamification. By tracking daily reading, students will build healthy reading habits and grow into confident, lifelong readers. The Allentown School District will use Beanstack to easily track minutes read. Through the website or mobile app, users can:

Earn digital badges as they reach reading milestones
Compete on leaderboards and build streaks for daily reading
Track everything they read on a personal virtual bookshelf

Together we can reach our goal of 250,000 minutes this fall! Students can access Beanstack directly through their device using Clever or at home by downloading the Beanstack mobile app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.
