Custodial/Maintenance
The District has ongoing needs for Substitute Custodial/Maintenance staff. This position fills work needs on an on-call, as needed basis. Total compensation ($15.00 per hour) is based on actual hours worked. Successful candidates must possess a secondary (i.e., high school) school diploma or GED, a valid PA Driver’s License in good standing, and access to reliable transportation. Apply today!

Paraprofessionals and Instructional Support
The District has acute needs for qualified special education paraprofessionals to assist with instructional delivery to students in special needs areas, including, autistic support, personal care, life skills, multiple disabilities, and emotional support. Instructional paraprofessionals, including special education paraprofessionals, assist with classroom instructional delivery. Non-instructional paraprofessionals (e.g., cafeteria) do not work in a classroom or support instructional delivery. All instructional paraprofessional candidates must satisfy Highly Qualified requirements in order to be considered for an instructional position. The minimum Highly Qualified requirements include the following: (1) possession of an Associates or Bachelors degree, OR (2) completion of two years of college (minimum of 48 credits), OR (2) passage of the Paraprofessional Knowledge Test in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Child Nutrition Services (Cafeteria)
The Child Nutrition Services has an acute need for Substitute Cafeteria Workers, an entry-level position. Substitute employees work under the supervision of more experienced and specialized food service personnel to assist with preparing and serving food menu items in our school buildings. Duties also include kitchen clean-up and sanitation and serving as a cashier. Apply today!

The shortage of teachers has also created an opportunity for retired educators to return to service without jeopardizing their retirement benefits. As of this year, retired educators can return to service as Allentown School District employees.
