ASD To Open with Hybrid Learning Model for Q4

March 26, 2021

Dear ASD Community,

The Allentown School District Board of Directors is excited to announce that we will be reopening our school building to students this April for the start of quarter 4.

The health and safety of our entire community remains a top priority for our administration and school board. To date, we have over 6,200 families that have indicated their preference to begin a hybrid learning experience. Another 5,300 of our families have opted to continue their remote learning experience through our virtual campus.

With the decision made by our board yesterday evening, we are happy to provide significant advance notice to our instructional staff, students, and families.

As we move forward with this transition, please note the following important dates:

  • April 6 - All K-12 staff will return to buildings full time
  • April 19Elementary students will return to buildings
  • April 26 -Middle and High School students will return to buildings

In the coming weeks, we will launch a comprehensive communication campaign to share information on schedules, what to expect in a hybrid classroom, meals, transportation, technology, etc.  Information will continue to be updated on our website using the Opening of Schools for Students & Families and the Opening of Schools for Employees pages. Information can also be accessed through informational posters with QR codes on LANTA buses.  If there is a need for any additional information, please feel free to contact our staff by using the Let’s Talk icon on our website.  You may also download the ASD app in the Apple or Google Play store to submit questions through Let’s Talk.

Lastly, students, families, and community partners are invited to visit the ASD website to read our Hybrid Learning FAQ . These frequently asked questions will be updated regularly.

We look forward to seeing our students and staff in our buildings next month! On behalf of the School Board of Directors, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all staff, students and families for your patience and flexibility during these unprecedented times.
