Superintendent's Message - Welcome!

Greetings Allentown School District Families!

I am excited to share great news about the launch of the district website!  When you visit the Allentown School District’s website, you will now notice a considerably different look and feel.

As a part of our Strategic Framework, the ASD website has been redesigned to improve the overall communications experience for our students, their families, our teachers and school community members.

Some of the changes you may notice are:
  • A cleaner layout and reorganization of some menu items
  • More photos, video and content that tells the story of our diverse community
  • A mobile responsive layout – meaning the page automatically adjusts to fit your desktop, tablet or phone
  • Each school site now has a streamlined consistent menu from school to school, giving parents consistency while their student transitions from elementary, to middle to high school within the district
  • A site map on each page lets you see everything available in just one click.
  • An upgrade to the sites translation services, allowing student and families access to a wider range of languages natively spoken in the home

Our goal is to have this new site serve as a centralized location that can be used as a resource for school district information impacting all members of our school community. Having a powerful online presence will improve communication within the district and ensure that our community members know where to go for all information relating to ASD and our schools.  Changing and improvements are a process and we appreciate your patience and value your contributions.

The pages you are most familiar with– such as the Sapphire Community portal, or access to staff email – are still there, and located in easy to access places on the new site.

ASD is more connected than ever with social media! Links on the site will connect you to each school’s social profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

We will soon introduce our ASD mobile app, available in the Apple iTunes and Google Play store in March. The ASD app will allow our families to become even more connected with the district, set up push notifications and give users easy access to the items they use most. The app will be free to download.

We thank you for your patience as we transition to the new pages. The new website will take time to fully develop and you will begin notice robust and engaging content updates on a regular basis.

Most importantly, we want to hear from you – if you like what you see, let us know! If you notice something that isn’t working quite right, tell us! You can submit feedback here.
