2024 – 2025 School Board of Directors’ Goals

  • Policy Development & Review: Create and execute a strategy to assess and update at least 20% of the District's policies and procedures (in addition to the 26% reviewed in the 2023–2024 school year) to ensure alignment with current educational best practices, as well as fiscal, operational, and legal standards.

  • Strategic Planning: Implement the comprehensive strategic plan and the District Improvement Plan, outlining clear goals, action steps, and timelines for improving student achievement and district performance over the next three to five years. Provide quarterly reviews of progress on goals through data analysis.

  • Family / Community Engagement: Increase family and community engagement and involvement in the District's decision-making process by hosting a minimum of four community forums. Adopt a policy to implement School Governance Councils in all schools.

  • Fiscal Responsibility: Develop and adopt a balanced budget that optimizes available resources to support student learning and meets the District's strategic objectives. Aim to reduce non-essential expenses by 3% and/or increase revenue and/or in-kind services by 5% without compromising educational quality.

  • Effective Governance: Enhance the effectiveness of School Board Directors by implementing strategies to ensure that meetings are well-organized, focused, and conducted in a respectful and constructive manner.

  • Human Capital: Develop and implement strategic talent pipelines to reduce vacancies across the organization, while introducing systems and structures, such as time clocks, to enhance operational efficiency. This initiative aims to streamline the recruitment process, improve workforce management, and ensure that staffing levels meet the needs of our departments effectively.

  • Academic: Foster a culture of academic growth by implementing targeted professional development programs for educators, aimed at enhancing instructional strategies and student engagement. This initiative will focus on setting measurable improvement goals for student performance, encouraging innovative teaching practices, and providing ongoing support and resources to facilitate continuous learning and growth for both teachers and students.
