Mr. Jose Rivera will serve as the Acting Executive Director of Information Technology. Mr. Rivera is a proud graduate of Dieruff High School who currently serves as the District’s Supervisor of Technology Services. He oversees the district’s core network, systems, and cybersecurity operations and has played a critical leadership role in major initiatives, including the district’s 1:1 device rollout. He holds an Associate's Degree in Computer Networking from the Information Computer Systems Institute in Allentown, PA, and over a dozen industry certifications in areas such as Linux System Administration, Microsoft Systems, cybersecurity, and networking. He is excited to continue fostering innovation and unity within the Allentown School District Learning Community.

Ms. Kaitlyn Hoffman has been named Assistant Principal at William Allen High School. She joins the District from Northampton Area School District, where she currently serves as a Supervisor of Special Education, bringing extensive experience in student support services, instructional leadership, and special education. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with building leaders to advance MTSS, academic interventions, and trauma-informed practices. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and obtained her principal certification from Delaware Valley University.

“These appointments reflect the strength of our internal talent pipeline and our commitment to strong, student-centered leadership,” said Herman James, Chief of Talent Management and Labor Relations. “We are excited to welcome these leaders into their new roles as we begin the new year.”

The Allentown School District is currently recruiting highly qualified staff for open positions in Math, Science, and Special Education. Educators and professionals interested in making an impact are encouraged to explore current openings and apply through the district’s employment portal.
