The Allentown School District uses a team of interpreters and translators to aid families that need assistance when communicating with their children’s schools.
When necessary, schools send required communication home in the family's native language. Families can ask for other services related to communication with the school or the District in their preferred language by sending a note to the school in their native language and a designated language interpreter will communicate with them.
The Allentown School District provides:
- Support for a family's language needs by sending home notices in their preferred language of communication.
- Translated information on the District website to better service our multilingual students and their families.
- Communication regarding school closings, weather-related notices, school trips, etc. in a family's preferred language.
- Support from trained bilingual personnel for parent-teacher conferences, enrollment, career fairs, or disciplinary proceedings.
