Home Education
In Pennsylvania, homeschooling is a right, as long as the documentation required by law and the school district is submitted.
Allentown parents who wish to home school their children, must complete the following checklist and return the below items to the Working Papers Office at the Allentown School District Administration Building, located at 31 S. Penn St.

Completed, signed, and notarized affidavit

Evidence of supervisor’s high school diploma or GED

Outline of proposed educational objectives by subject area (be sure to include student’s date of birth and grade level)

Evidence of student immunizations

Evidence of student health and medical services
For exceptional students only:
- Written notice of program approval by a licensed clinical psychologist, certified school psychologist, or teacher with valid PA special education teaching certification.
