School Counselors provide a safe and supportive environment to help all students succeed.
Counselors consult with parents and school staff to help students be successful. They offer assistance through classroom guidance, including prevention education, emphasizing safety, conflict resolution and bullying prevention. At the secondary level emphasis is placed on college and career planning.
Allentown School District school counselors help students deal with issues ranging from normal developmental concerns to crises or trauma. School counseling and guidance services are available to all students in all schools.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the Allentown School District partnered with the Counslr app to give direct, 24/7/365 on-demand mobile access to mental health resources and supports to students 14 years of age and older.
Students must provide a parent’s email address so the parent can receive and submit permission for the student to access the support. It is recommended to download the app proactively so that support is readily available when needed. grades 9-12.

This extension of the VHP Children’s Clinic provides primary and specialty care for the children in the community from 2 months to 18 years old, including sick visits, well-child visits, physicals, immunizations, ADHD clinic, asthma clinic, and behavioral health services at the Community Centers at Brigadier General Anna Mae Hays Elementary School and Sheridan Elementary School.
