Allentown School District school psychologists are child advocates and partners in education committed to helping all children achieve their best academically, emotionally and vocationally.
Allentown School District Psychological Services are provided by state-certified school psychologists. The staff includes bilingual professionals who collaboratively work within the District to provide services for all children.
School psychologists have specialized training in both psychology and education. Services are tailored to meet the needs of students and their specific situations.
The role of Allentown School District psychologists is to:
• Consult with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
• Evaluate students.
• Provide individual and group counseling.
• Conduct interventions.
• Offer in-service programs.
• Participate in District initiatives to make schools safer and more effective.
• Respond to and manage District-wide crises.
Allentown School District school psychologists are assigned specific schools each year. They work in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals in a team approach to overcome academic, behavioral, and emotional difficulties.
