ASD Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month!
Posted on 09/15/2021

Dear ASD Families,

This week kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month here in Allentown and across the United States. The month of celebration begins on Wednesday, September 15, and runs through October 15.

Here in the Allentown School District, we are proud of the incredible diversity of our students, staff, families, and community members. This month, we are excited to celebrate the staff and students in our school district with Hispanic heritage.

On each Friday over the next four weeks, we invite our families to join us via Facebook LIVE for conversations with our Office of Family & Community Engagement and local district and student leaders who are of Hispanic descent. Each session will start at 3 p.m. We look forward to some great discussions! Many of our schools and classroom teachers will also have special celebrations planned this month.

It is our goal to ensure every ASD student is learning in a safe and positive environment in which they are respected and valued as individuals. As I visited our buildings during the kick off to this school year, I was energized by the resilience of our students in dealing with and overcoming unprecedented challenges. We have welcomed back nearly 16,000 students for in-person learning this school year. I have been reminded once more what an amazing school district community we have here in ASD.

As always, thank you for your support. Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Ramos

Acting Superintendent

Atentamente,

Jennifer Ramos
