Allentown School District to Provide On-Demand Tutoring for Every Student

ALLENTOWN, PA — The Allentown School District is excited to announce it will now provide 24/7 On-Demand tutoring for every student PK-12. This is made possible through a new agreement with Brainfuse, an online tutoring platform that is able to provide a powerful combination of mutually reinforcing services, designed to provide students opportunities to seek assistance in a variety of ways and at times that work best for students and families.
“We are thrilled to be able to provide every one of our 16,000+ students and families with the opportunity to access high-quality tutors through any internet-connected device including mobile phones,” said Dr. Carol D. Birks, Allentown School District Superintendent. “Providing every child with tutoring is not just an investment in their academic success, but a commitment to nurturing their potential. Our goal is to empower every student and instill confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love for learning. Incorporating tutoring for all students can contribute to a more equitable and effective educational system, ensuring that every student has the support they need to thrive academically and personally.”
On evenings and weekends, students and families will now have the ability to connect directly with a tutor to help them reach and exceed their academic goals. Bilingual tutors and AI-based translation features enable tutors and students to communicate in almost any language.
Additionally, a second aspect of the tutoring program (Boost HDT) is designed to provide students with high-dosage tutoring outside of school hours, on a sustained basis with a consistent tutor who monitors student progress. The BoostHDT program will be available for students who may need a higher level of personalized support based on student data. This element of the program will provide more scheduled and structured intervention and require a higher level of commitment from families.
